First 3D Project

So, here it is, the first 3D project of the semester. Pretty fun.  I had a lot of problems with the practice one like this with keeping the angles the way I wanted them.  The instructor showed us a fabulous way of keeping the sticks clamped down and keep the desired angles.  I like the way my top one sits on the masonite board.  It's awesome.

I hope at least one of my pieces from these art classes gets put into the end of the year art show.  I'm not too confident in my work anymore.  It's kind of a loop around every time with me.  I'll love my work, then hate it.  I really like my top stick kite thing.  I hope this will be one to go into the show.  Maybe I'll become a sculptor instead of an Illustrator or a Designer.  That would be very weird. I always thought of being a designer, but then recently liked illustration and leaned more toward that side.  Now...I feel I'm better at making 3D objects.  Eh, we'll see.  Guess I should sleep now.

It's been a while....

Maybe just a week, but it seems that this week has been busy busy. Hm, so, I'm glad I get a few moments to finally post zoo photos. lol. Like I promised. I'll also post two pictures from the assignment we have to put into our process journals, showing unity and variety. I had fun trying to find this within the zoo, unfortunately, it wasn't until after leaving the zoo I found what I was looking for. I had fun trying to find unity/variety within the zoo though. So anyways....here they are, only a few though.

Lions are my favorite, though, it seems every time I go to the Como Zoo, they are sleeping. This guy never even twitched his ears or anything.Well, neither did his wife lion. Too bad lions are laaaazzzyyy. I guess that is why they are called lions, they're always lyin. XD
This was the most still photo I could get of the spider monkeys, these guys were GREAT!! They kept going up to the glass and gawking at everyone. It was pretty comical, like they were thinking "Hey, how do you like US gawking at YOU!?" I usually don't like monkeys, they creep me out, but these guys were hilarious.

And now for my assignment photos. They're pretty cool. I did a good job with these, I think anyways...

Yup, unity/variety. Good times trying to find photos for that. hahah. Not really. It sucked, finally found some good ones. There are supposed to be 2 nature ones and 2 man-made ones, I picked my fave ones of the bunch.  The top ones is obviously flowers. A bunch of yellow ones with one purple one.  The bottom one is of an air conditioning box thingy.

I am sooooo happy to be in art school though.  The other day it felt like it was almost a dream being at my dream art school.  Oh my gosh, I'm FINALLY here!!! Yay!

Also, I am loving the community at my school. There are none of those "Oh, you're just a stupid freshman" type upperclassmen. Everyone is intermitten and it is pretty awesome.  There is only one of those types, and he was just talking smack because he was drunk, I'm guessing.  Anyways....should get going, sorry I didn't get much into depth about this past week, I'll go better into detail next time. As for now, keep rocking out folks!!

Ahhhh, got one of my awesome projects finished up, or so I think...

So, nah nah nah NAAAHHHHH, here it is. Hope everyone likes it. :)

Too fun, too fun. Anywhosers, yeah, my photo on the farthest right side is pretty scary looking. I look like either a sexy zombie or I just got done mud wrestling and my eyes are like....a piercing blue. It was pretty cool to do, I kind of want to do it all over again to see what I'd do differently, but eh, too tired now. My other half is coming home tomorrow!! I still gotta get other homework done. Blehhh, pooooopyyyy. hahah. Anyways....I had a good day at the zoo, I know, I promised pictures, I took some good ones, but I don't feel like posting them all up now. I will probably do the ones I got of the flowers and then a few at a time as the week goes on. Bahhhhh, I'm so excited!! I don't know for what, maybe getting to put this poster/biography thing up for critique on Tuesday. I want to see what peeps will say about it. I feel very proud of myself, and I don't even like Photoshop!! lol. Illustrator is where it's at!! Speaking of which, we're going to get into Illustrator on Tuesday. Which I am so glad we won't be working much with Photoshop. I LOOOOVEEE Illustrator!! I totally forgot everything about it though, haven't used it in a longlonglong time. Hmm, maybe I'll brush up on it with Fill tomorrow, when he COMES BACK!!! ^.^ I wouldn't be so excited if we actually were able to talk while he was away, but our phones aren't working. :/ We're broke, I say poor, but broke is the correct terminology. Yup, sooooo, I should get to bed so I can wake up early and have our assignments for writing class ready to be worked on! Yup yup!
Keep rocking out, fools! :P  ---KayceeLynn

The infamous zebra print on giant canvas of ours, everyone loves it, I guess it is pretty neat. I guess I put it up because it suits what I'm doing today, the zoo! hahah. I need some sweet nature photos for 2D, so this kind of inspires me to take good ones like this. But I'm in a bit of a hurry now, I'll post some of the photos from today later.

Loonnnggg dayyyy

So, I have had what feels like the longest day ever. My other half has gone for the weekend to army training. He didn't even say goodbye this morning. :(( Technically, yesterday morning. But eh. I miss him, it seems that the more and more stuff we do together, the more I miss him when he's gone for even an hour, sometimes less. It's really weird. I've been alone all day today, just thoughts to myself, then finally, Jon-a-ton picked me up to get his girlfriend and we went to Bennigan's!! Great place. Especially the drunks on Fridays. XD Some dude tried stealing some lady's purse when she went out for a smoke. It was great, because she is obviously super dense(she wears leggings as pants). But at the same time, what if I got mine stolen when I went for a smoke? Well....okay, I'm not that dumb....I usually just leave mine at the table at Boston's, since our usual spot is RIGHT THERE next to the window, but this lady at Bennigan's, had to go all the way across the building where she couldn't just peer in the window every two seconds to make sure her purse is okay. And, as much as I thought this lady was dumb, I'm glad she found out who had her purse before he could steal anything out of it, or so, that's what I gathered. The guy taking it wasn't very smart either, he looked as if he was going into the bathroom with it to take stuff out and then put it back before she got to her spot, but she beat him to her spot, so there he was, right outside the bathroom door as she was walking back and forth and finally spotted him. Her boyfriend was there trying  to push this fellow around, and I thought for sure I was going to see my first bar fight ever. Dang it! I believe the owner kicked the guy trying to steal the purse out before a fight broke out, but oh man, it would have been epic.
Anyways, I was pretty bored before going to Bennigan's. I moped around the house, trying to get my internet through my phone to my computer. It finally worked, but only works short periods at a time. Yeah, it kinda sucks. But other than that, I watched Sweet Home Alabama, and dang, that movie gets me EVERYY time!! I always cry, and the "ex husband" fella reminds me of Fill, his stubborness and his good looks and charm. Bahhhh. So this time around watching it was kind of like a "what if" this really happened between me and Fill? We were supposed to get married in 2008, when we came back for Christmas break from Army training, but that never happened, then we split up for a few months, but I couldn't resist him, so I HAD to beg him to be with me still when I got back.  I am a very lucky girl. Sometimes they say that you take for granted what you have 'til it's gone. It's so true, in so many different aspects: money, clothes that fit right, relationships, etc. So I consider myself lucky as hell, we do have our disputes from time to time, but we are like peanut butter and jelly, we mesh so well. Everyone says we're the ultimate couple, and I never saw that until I got back last year, and even more so lately. He is the cherry on top of my whipped cream, the chocolate to my graham crackers, and best of all, the key to my heart. :) I know, it's so mushy, but hey, I'M A GIRRRLLLL!! Duh. lol. Hm, soooo....art......any good stuff coming along lately? Eh, I have...let's see......an old tattoo idea for my brother and me.  It's a pretty sweet one, but it's kind of light, can't tell it's there hardly.
Yup, pretty nifty. My brother is 17, but we were gonna find somewhere my mum could sign off on a tattoo, so it'd be all good in the hood for him to get a tat, that never happened, and I was gonna try to find something different, so we wouldn't have to go with his first and my second tattoo on our rib cages. Ick. hahah. Ouch. Anywhooo, speaking of tattoos, I almost have one of my friends' designs done, I'll post that when I'm finished, and I gotta get my mum's done and I can't wait to get one soon!! It should be with whatever money Fill and I don't need for a car, apartment and all that good stuff. I'm scared it's all going to go quick though. Guess I'll have to wait even longer. :/ Hmmph. Well, I'm done now I guess. So much to read this time!! Sorry folks.

Phil Hansen's Jimi Hendrix on Fire - Goodbye Art

This would be Phil Hansen's art, he is AMAZING! I recommend everyone to go to his website (click here) and look at all of his work. Yes, I said all of it.  There isn't one piece I don't like, and the awesome thing is, he's Minnesota local. Someone said he's Seattle local, but that's a lie. Minnesota local, represent. hhahah. Anywho....not too bad of a week, I just....have a cold, yes, I said that before.  It started out with my throat hurting slightly, I thought it was a mix between me meowing at the cats too much (which is hilarious) and all the protein shakes I've had and not drinking much water during the day Tuesday.  So, before bed Tuesday night, I took cough medicine, when I woke up on Wednesday, BAM, I have fluids coming out of every hole in my body except my anus!! hahaha. It really sucks, I feel so exhausted. Yup yup, hmmmmm, so I have decided I am taking Ickis on a walk, if the grass isn't super soaked. He would appreciate one. :)

What a gloomy day

And what makes it feel even more gloomy is me having a cold. Mucus comes out my nose when I COUGH! Ewwww. I need some OJ or something. Yup....anywho....here I've been sitting in the school library, doing my homework, and forgot that, oh yeah.....one of my classes doesn't have the book in the library. Ahhhh man, that sucks. I guess one of mine and Fill's awesome classmates emailed the reading, so I'm just gonna read that at home and do the assignment there. Technically not home, but, the closest thing we've got at the moment.  Yup, and while at the library, I saw this awesome magazine, forgot what it's called, but the cover is The Casualties at Warped Tour, which totally reminded me of meeting two of the guys from the band.  It was neat. And I met the guys from Reel Big Fish, again, they're awesome.  I don't have any photos from Warped Tour on this computer or on my FaceBook, sadly. I know, you would love to see Gorge Hererra with my brother and boyfriend flicking the whole world off. Yup, it was a neat photo.  So, aside from awesome Warped Tour days, I went to a few other really awesome shows/concerts/whatever you wanna call them.  I usually call them shows.  Anywho, let's see......sick, Warped Tour, school library.........Oh yeah! I also finished my roughs for today's 2D class, minus one, I'm artistically challenged when I don't have the visual of a bunch of pieces being cut up from a 3 inch by 3 inch square. Yup....I tried to just wing a few, doesn't look right, so I'm just gonna have to wait for an hour or something....Idunno.  Yup.......hmmmm......oh, so my classes are neat, most of the people in them are neat, and the assignments are pretty neat too.  This college is, but isn't testing my limits as an artist. There are some stuff I can still do in like....2 seconds, but I have a whole new drawing technique I had to learn, it kind of pissed me off, I'm not very good at it, but it's fun, I guess that's all that really matters.  Anyways....I think I'm done here for now.....I might post some Phil in the Circle stuff later, he's great. Ciao!
That's me, and this was my first drawing. But yeah, NOW I'm done. :)
